We will teach you the skills you need and give you the tools to complete projects that allow our neighbors to remain safely at home. Join the Board of Directors of Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County

Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County (RTSC) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides essential home repairs at no cost to those in need. Since 1998, our mission has been repairing homes, revitalizing communities, rebuilding lives. Rebuilding Together Sheboygan County serves low-income homeowners who are seniors, individuals living with disabilities, families with children, and veterans and their families in need. Safe and Healthy Housing is the foundation of Rebuilding Together’s home repair work, targeting significant safety and health hazards.

Position Overview

As a Board Member of RTSC, you will play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, sustainability, and impact of the organization throughout Sheboygan County. Board Members act as ambassadors of our mission, providing leadership, governance and work to build the organization’s resources to meet current and future client needs. As we prepare to celebrate 28 years of service to the community, the organization seeks Board Members who can serve our mission of ensuring safe homes and communities for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Oversight
Attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings.
Review and approve policies, budgets, and program plans.
Uphold and promote the organization’s mission, vision, and values.

Strategic Leadership
Collaborate on the development of long-term goals and growth strategies.
Provide professional insight to strengthen services, outreach, and participant engagement.

Financial Stewardship
Review financial statements, approve annual budgets, and oversee fiscal accountability.
Support fundraising efforts through donor outreach, and community partnerships.
Assist in identifying grant and funding opportunities to sustain program growth.

Community Engagement & Advocacy
Serve as a public ambassador for RTSC, sharing our mission and impact.
Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, agencies, and supporters.

Committee Participation
Serve on at least one committee
Contribute expertise in areas such as project management, construction and trades, marketing, finance, community outreach, fundraising, construction management and administration.

Expectations

• Serve a three-year term, renewable by board approval.
• Actively participate on committees, and/or rebuilding projects.
• Act as an ambassador for RTSC in your networks.
• Support the mission through advocacy, fundraising, and community presence.
• Minimal time commitment (8 hours per month).
